Job Title: Tin Plating Operator

Location: Santa Teresa, NM 

Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour

Schedule: Rotating Shifts Every Four Months

• Initial Shift: Night Shift (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
• Alternating Weekly Schedule:
  
   
  • Week 1: Four 12-hour shifts (48 hours)
  • Week 2: Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Tin Plating Operator to join our manufacturing team. Under general supervision, you will be responsible for operating the NIEHOFF WPT 400 tin plating machine and ensuring the high-quality coating of drawn bare copper wires with metals such as tin, following precise specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate the NIEHOFF WPT 400 tin plating machine to coat copper wire with metals such as tin.
• Read production schedules and prepare machine setups in accordance with job specifications.
• Adjust machine settings and prepare chemical baths while maintaining chemical levels and quality control.
• Monitor machine gauges and performance, making adjustments or stopping operations as needed to maintain quality and safety.
• Measure coating thickness to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Collect samples from chemical baths for testing and make necessary adjustments based on test results.
• Inspect and replace tin anodes as required.
• Handle and prepare inlet wires and spools for the tin coating process.
• Perform wire welding tasks as necessary to join wires during production.
• Document production records, inspection results, and maintenance activities accurately.
• Report any machine malfunctions or breakdowns to the supervisor immediately.
• Perform cleaning and replacement of chemical baths, and basic machinery maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
• Adhere to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in a related field preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing or metal coating operations is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications (preferred).
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift materials, and perform manual tasks.
