Job Title: Buncher Operator
Location: Santa Teresa, NM
Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Schedule: Rotating Shifts Every Four Months
- Initial Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Alternating Weekly Schedule:
Week 1: Four 12-hour shifts (48 hours) - Week 2: Three 12-hour shifts (36 hours)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Buncher Operator to join our production team. Under general supervision, the Buncher Operator will be responsible for operating various wire bunching machines to meet customer specifications and quality standards. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and efficient production of wire products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate machinery including NIEHOFF D561, D631, D801, D1250, Planetary Strander, and Single Twist machines.
- Bunch single or multiple wires to meet final product tolerances based on customer specifications and production parameters.
- Determine setup procedures, select appropriate machine parts, and configure machines according to the production plan.
- Load inlet wires onto pay-offs and unload empty spools as needed.
- Conduct preliminary test production runs and submit wire samples to the Quality Control Lab for testing.
- Adjust machine settings based on test results to ensure product quality.
- Continuously monitor the production process and machine operations; stop or adjust machinery when problems arise.
- Inspect wire traversing visually and make real-time corrections as necessary.
- Maintain accurate production and process control records.
- Take samples from finished products and submit them for final quality testing.
- Wrap completed reels with cardboard or stretch film, label them appropriately, and transport them to the stocking/packaging area.
- Notify supervisors immediately of any production defects and assist in troubleshooting and corrections.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and tools.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all workplace safety and environmental rules and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational or technical training in a related field is preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge is a plus.
- Prior experience in machine operation, manufacturing, or wire processing is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials, and handle manual tasks.
