We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to minimize safety risks. The selected candidate will conduct safety observation reports on a regular basis, attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks, and educate employees on safety standards and expectations, including safe machinery operation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities by notifying project managers/supervisors.
- Participate in developing and conducting staff safety orientation training programs.
- Conduct work area surveillance inspections, damage assessments, and personal injury investigations.
- Document all accidents, safety violations, and unsafe conditions/activities, ensuring management is informed of violations.
- Compile data, photographs, and reports related to accidents/incidents for submission to Human Resources.
- Conduct new employee safety orientations and maintain training records.
- Lead safety meetings, track minutes, and monitor attendance.
- Develop and facilitate safety training meetings.
- Track certifications and schedule employees for required training.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on injured employees, ensuring compliance with doctor’s restrictions.
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to give presentations and training in both languages.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively with employees and management.
- Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, if necessary.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience required; a safety-related degree is preferred.
- Additional education in Safety/OSHA is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of construction safety experience.
Location: Santa Teresa
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM with the ability to work overtime as needed.
Pay: $22/hour
