Quality Technician (temp to perm)
The Quality Technician ensures safety, quality and productivity standards are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures. The Quality Technician performs review of incoming components, sub-assemblies and products to ensure conformance to Engineering and Quality requirements and will work together with cross functional teams to determine root cause and corrective actions for any non-conformances in material or workmanship of company's products and processes.
Responsibilities:

Conduct first article inspections of purchased parts, sub-assemblies and finished products according to customer and company specifications and document the results of the inspections.

Perform dimensional layouts and inspections; report findings and recommendations

Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.

Manage the calibration system to maintain full ISO compliance.

Regularly use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, surface plates, optical /custom functional gauges and set up precision measuring equipment.

Blueprint reading and interpretation, apply requirements in various test and inspection activities.

Assist the Quality manager in setting up an inspection room and the distribution of all measuring equipment as well as calibration requirements.

Participate in process improvement and problem solving, such as, print review, product review, procedural or work instruction draft reviews and root cause analysis for quality problems.

Analyze and disposition nonconforming material as authorized by the Quality Manager.

Index, file, store and retrieve quality performance records.

Respond to change productively and other duties as required.
Qualifications:
Experience:
-
3+ years of technician level experience in a quality assurance focused organization using the latest precision measuring equipment and technology

Sound technical background in a light electro-mechanical environment.
Knowledge & Skills:
-
Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral, and inter-personal.

Ability to multi-task and work independently.
-
MS Office experience required and working knowledge of MRP is a plus.

Functional experience with mechanical gauges

Knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

Training with experience in incoming inspection techniques and blueprint reading
Education Minimum Requirements/Equivalent:

ASQ certification and/or two-year degree preferable in the electro-mechanical area preferred

Knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments.

Prefer Certified Quality Technician by American Society for Quality (ASQ)
