Job Description
Manages and coordinates various activities within the contracts department, according to the policies and procedures of the organization. Reviews and negotiates simple to moderately complex contracting agreements. Provides guidance on proposals. Collaborates with internal stakeholders on risks and mitigation strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Reviews, comments upon and marks up simple to moderately complex subcontracts, agreements, terms and conditions, Master Services Agreements (MSA) and like documents, requiring nominal supervision, and over time, no supervision, and produces final markup for return to customer.

Capable of understanding subtly nuanced contract provisions.

Negotiates with customer, including a customer’s legal representatives, aimed at achieving best terms concerning risk mitigation and minimization.

Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.

Monitors the status of key transactions and reports on status or issues to stakeholders.

Researches current laws and trends

Keeps anti-indemnity research up-to-date through annual review of the law

Undertakes other statutory reviews upon request to highlight risks in various states on topics such as “paid if when paid” and mechanics lien laws.

Elicits internal client feedback to support continuous process improvements.

Effectively utilizes organizational systems, tools, and processes to accomplish job functions and monitor performance.

Responds to requests and escalations from staff, operations, finance, risk management, legal, and others on contract management issues and procedures.

Collaborates with team members to support implementation of contract management standards of performance, processes and procedures.

As necessary, may serve as back up for another team member.

Oversee and maintain insurance certificates for all customers and insure compliance with company policies and with contractual requirements. Responsible for and oversee annual renewal to ensure timely insurance issuance and lower problems with renewal.
Qualifications:

Required Education & Experience

Minimum of 3 years contracts experience in industrial, commercial and specialty services, oil & gas, refining or petrochemical industries in North America.

Prefer bot not required Bachelor’s degree in business administration, construction management, or other related field from an accredited university or paralegal training or J.D.
