Staff Accountant – Full-Time

Compensation: Based on experience

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to work directly alongside the Comptroller, supporting high-level accounting functions, forensic accounting projects, and internal audits. This role requires a degreed professional with extensive experience, strong analytical skills, and a willingness to take on complex financial tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Comptroller with daily, monthly, and annual accounting operations.

  • Perform forensic accounting tasks, investigate discrepancies, and ensure financial accuracy.

  • Conduct and support internal audits, preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliation reports.

  • Prepare journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and perform account reconciliations.

  • Assist with financial reporting, month-end and year-end closing activities.

  • Analyze variances, identify irregularities, and recommend process improvements.

  • Maintain detailed and organized financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

  • Support special projects, investigations, and financial reviews as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.

  • Extensive accounting experience, preferably supporting a senior accountant, controller, or comptroller.

  • Strong understanding of forensic accounting, auditing procedures, and financial investigation techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, and internal controls.

  • High-level analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential financial information.

  • Self-motivated, eager, and capable of taking initiative in a fast-paced financial environment.

  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with leadership and cross-department teams.
