PAY RANGE DOQ: $17.20 - $27.52/HR.
Position Summary:
Semi-skilled and manual work in maintaining Citywide trees. Work is reviewed through oral and written reports, discussion, and results obtained.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Semi-skilled labor to support tree trimming tasks involving the operation of heavy equipment and machinery.

Participates in tree trimming and debris removal; construction and maintenance of park areas as instructed.

Performs cleaning and routine first level maintenance of equipment.

Makes daily written and oral reports.

For declared disasters, position is considered “essential’; works with City crews during preparation and recovery operations (road clearing, debris removal from rights of way and city properties, inspection of facilities, etc.).

Performs other job duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of grounds maintenance techniques, practices, and principles.

Knowledge of tools and equipment to do related work.

Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Skill in the operation and preventative maintenance of equipment and related tools.

Ability to learn tennis court maintenance and adapt to weather-related changes.

Self-starter, shows initiative, able to follow instructions.

Flexible schedule to allow weekend and evening work as needed.
Education and Experience:

High school graduation or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma.

Grounds maintenance and tree experience preferred.
Certificates and Licenses:

Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver License and be insurable by the City’s current insurance provider.
