Pay Minimum: $12/HR

 

Must be 16-18 yrs. of age as of June 1.  Valid FL Driver’s License. Work experience dealing with youth ages 6-13 in a controlled setting, supervising team and/or individual sports, and general knowledge of a variety of other recreational activities.  Conversational Spanish a plus, but not required.

Position Summary:

Position is for the part time and/or seasonal recreation program staff with flexible program support duties such as, but not limited to: athletic official, concession stand worker, tennis center assistant, skate park attendant, after school attendant, special project assistant, building rental monitor, recreation/community center front desk attendant, or special event assistant.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Other duties may be assigned as dictated by operational necessity.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to perform duties in a public setting showing stellar customer service.

  • For officials: knowledge of the particular sport’s rules is preferred.

  • For all duties: ability to learn and understand the particular duty’s rules, regulations, and procedures.

  • Not every duty is required to meet each specified level of Essential Physical Abilities and Environmental Conditions listed below. Levels listed are for athletic officials, other duties are rated at lower levels.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimally a current high school student.

  • Minimum age of 14 at time of hiring.

  • Experience in the particular sport or duty applying for is preferred.

 

Certificates and Licenses:

  • Some duties require driving. When driving is required, possession of a valid Florida driver’s license is required, and driver must be insurable by the City’s current insurance carrier.

  • Most duties will not require driving a City vehicle.
