Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support daily operations in a manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heavy manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient production. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting and is comfortable working with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and conveyor systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on manufacturing equipment, including CNC machinery, saws, sanders, presses, and conveyors
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, and actuators
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues to restore equipment to proper operation
- Maintain and repair conveyor systems to ensure smooth material flow throughout the facility
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, manuals, and technical documentation
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues before equipment failure occurs
- Ensure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and facility improvements
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment status to production and management teams
- Support continuous improvement efforts to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (wood products, cabinetry, or similar preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of heavy machinery and production equipment
- Hands-on experience with:
- Pneumatics and compressed air systems
- Hydraulics and fluid power systems
- Conveyor systems
- Mechanical drives (belts, chains, bearings, gearboxes)
- Basic electrical troubleshooting experience (sensors, motors, starters, VFDs a plus)
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery, moving parts, and industrial environments
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying temperatures as needed
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, on-site position
- May require occasional overtime depending on production needs
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and industrial equipment
Preferred (Not Required)
- Experience in cabinet manufacturing, woodworking, or millwork facilities
- Familiarity with CNC routers and automated production lines
- OSHA or industrial maintenance certifications
