The Quality Manager will champion a culture of continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma methodologies. This role is responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS), leading audits, ensuring compliance, and driving quality initiatives across the organization. The Quality Manager will address all internal and external quality inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and maintain the ISO-compliant Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Chair Monthly Operations Meetings and Bi-Annual QMS Reviews
  • Serve as the organizational representative for customer and third-party audits
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure a functional and effective quality system
  • Set and monitor departmental budgets, goals, and objectives
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to meet corporate performance targets
  • Attend industry meetings, seminars, and site tours to stay informed of best practices
  • Act as the focal point for product/process quality and IPC workmanship standards
  • Work closely with production teams to drive quality improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Provide training and support in problem-solving, SPC, cost of quality, Lean, and other quality methodologies
  • Compile and analyze customer and process data to support decision-making
  • Collaborate with Materials, Purchasing, and other departments on supplier selection and development
  • Drive departmental communication, performance, and career development
  • Conduct performance reviews for quality department staff
  • Stay up-to-date with industry publications and developments
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or related discipline
  • 5–10 years of experience in a quality-focused role
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing is a plus
  • Previous managerial or leadership experience required
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, DFM, FMEA, APQP, GR&R
  • Advanced understanding of manufacturing statistics (Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk, control charts, DOE)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Self-motivated and results-driven in a fast-paced environment

Required Training (or willingness to complete):

  • Controlled Goods Policy & Procedures
  • ESD, MSD & WHMIS
  • Company HR Policies (e.g., Respect in the Workplace, Leave policies)
  • Health & Safety Orientation
  • Quality Policy & Procedures
  • IPC-A-610 Specialist Certification
  • IPC Component Identification (CD-18)
  • Internal Auditor Certification

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Responsible for direct supervision of quality department personnel

Work Environment:

  • May require shift work including day, afternoon, and midnight shifts
  • Occasional weekend overtime may be required
  • Moderate noise level
  • Frequent exposure to moving machinery and chemicals

Physical Requirements:

  • Regular standing for long periods
  • Occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs
  • Occasional bending and squatting
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Authority:

  • Hire and terminate personnel in accordance with company policies
  • Exercise line and signing authority over all direct reports
  • Stop a process or reject an assembly due to quality concerns
