Role Overview

Pinnacle Staffing Group is seeking an experienced Welder to join our Topeka team. You’ll be responsible for precision welding of metal components, interpreting blueprints, and helping bring fabrication projects to life with skill and safety. Your attention to detail and craftsmanship will play a vital role in our daily operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical plans, and work orders to guide welding tasks. 

  • Set up welding equipment—MIG, TIG, Stick or Flux-Cored—as specified for each project. 

  • Fabricate, align, and weld metal components, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with specifications. 

  • Perform welding in multiple positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead) and orientations based on job needs. 

  • Smooth and grind welds to produce a clean and finished appearance. 

  • Inspect welds and completed fabrications for defects or inconsistencies—ensuring quality standards are met.

  • Keep the work area clean and organized, properly maintaining tools and equipment. 

  • Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a safe workspace. 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Welding/fabrication certificate or vocational training preferred). 

  • Demonstrated welding experience—minimum 1–2 years depending on role complexity. 

  • Proficient with welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core). 

  • Solid ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and welding symbols. 

  • Competent in measuring tools and layout equipment (calipers, tape, grinders, saws). 

  • Excellent attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to craftsmanship.

  • Physical stamina and ability to handle heavy materials, lift up to 50–60 lbs regularly. 

  • Familiarity with fabrication safety standards (OSHA, AWS) and PPE usage. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Welding certification (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is a strong plus.

  • Prior experience in a fabrication shop setting, especially within an industrial or structural environment.
