We are seeking a part-time, temporary Benefits Administrator to manage day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollment, eligibility verification, and employee changes. You will also serve as the primary contact for benefit vendors, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with regulations such as ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, strong knowledge of compliance requirements, and excellent communication and organizational skills. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact in a temporary capacity while supporting our HR team and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
· Oversee day-to-day administration of benefits programs, including enrollment, eligibility verification, and processing of employee changes and terminations
· Serve as the primary contact for benefit vendors, managing relationships, resolving issues, and monitoring vendor performance
· Recommend benefit programs to management by studying employee requirements, trends, and developments in benefits offered by other organizations
· Coordinate annual open enrollments activities, including plan design updates, communication campaigns, and employee education sessions
· Supports managements decision-making process by analyzing benefit options and predicting future costs
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements including ERISA, ACA, HIPAA and FMLA
· Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
· Collaborate with leadership and the HR team to assess current benefit offerings and identify areas for improvement or expansion
· Coordinate wellness activities, workshops and events
· Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
· 3-5 years experience in benefits administration or related HR role
· Strong knowledge of benefits regulations, compliance requirements, and industry trends
· Experience managing relationships with benefit vendors and negotiating contracts
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels
· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
· Strong organizational and project management skills
· Certified Employees Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) preferred
· Excellent verbal, written and attention to detail skills
