Title: Commercial Journeyman Foreman
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Summary:
The Job Foreman is responsible for supervising apprentice electricians, ensuring the safe, timely, and code-compliant completion of projects. As the primary on-site contact, the Foreman manages day-to-day operations, addresses customer inquiries, and coordinates closely with the Project Manager. This role also involves overseeing material needs, maintaining site cleanliness, and ensuring adherence to company policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise apprentice electricians to ensure efficient workflow and task completion.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, meets code compliance, and is completed on schedule.
- Act as the on-site liaison between the Project Manager and customers, handling inquiries and resolving issues.
- Coordinate material needs with the Warehouse Director and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work site.
- Follow all company policies, especially regarding vehicle use and job site conduct.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2+ years of relevant experience in electrical work or a related field.
- Valid Journeyman Electrician’s License.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Physical capability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Strong verbal communication and leadership skills.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting: Regularly lift up to 50 pounds; occasionally more with assistance.
- Standing/Walking: Prolonged standing and walking on various surfaces.
- Climbing: Frequent ladder use and work at heights.
- Bending/Kneeling: Regular bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
- Reaching/Handling: Frequent use of hands for tools and precision work.
- Vision/Hearing: Good vision and hearing required; use of PPE, including safety glasses and hearing protection, is mandatory.
- Coordination: Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
Safety Requirements:
- Comply with OSHA safety guidelines and wear PPE as needed.
- Report hazards and follow safe work practices.
Work Environment:
Indoors and outdoors in various settings, exposed to extreme weather, confined spaces, and high elevations.
- Protective equipment is required in noisy, dusty, or hazardous environments.
- Work may involve tight spaces and handling heavy tools.
- Overtime, weekend, and emergency work may be required.
