Business Development Associate – Commercial P&C Insurance | Remote (California Residents)

 

Exciting opportunity to join a mission-driven Commercial P&C MGA that offers a collaborative environment and a clear path for advancement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 3+ years of commercial insurance experience who’s ready to take the next step in their career. You'll work closely with senior leadership, support an established territory, and have the opportunity to grow into a Business Development Manager role within 12–18 months.

 

Reporting to the Managing VP of Business Development, you’ll work across core insurance programs and actively engage with our broker network to drive submissions and uncover new opportunities.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Represent our programs and value proposition to brokers via phone, email, video, and in-person outreach

  • Proactively manage and grow broker relationships within your assigned territory

  • Generate leads and increase submissions through thoughtful outreach and follow-up

  • Research and qualify prospective broker partners and decision-makers

  • Leverage data and performance metrics to inform strategy and track results

  • Support pipeline development by gathering needed information and following up on quotes

  • Participate in sales training and stay responsive to coaching and feedback

 

What You Bring

 

  • 3+ years of insurance experience, ideally in commercial property and casualty (P&C). Workers’ comp and package experience a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills—you enjoy building relationships and solving problems

  • Experience working with brokers, underwriters, or clients in a B2B setting

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and ready to grow

  • Tech-savvy—comfortable using Excel, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

 

Compensation: $85K–$95K base + bonus + excellent benefits
