Benefits and Leave Specialist, Hybrid
Hybrid with 1-2 days/week onsite
Opportunity to join a highly dedicated staff of multi-service nonprofit organization serving the greater Bay Area as their next Benefits and Leave Specialist.
Juggling a high volume of leave and benefits requests, you will use rely on your deep experience in FMLA, PDL, CFRA, ADA and COBRA to expertly carry out the leave management needs of this organization. You will also be responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and 403(b) plan.

You will:

Serve as the initial contact for employee absences, leave requests

Manage the life cycle of the leave request including employees’ initial notice of the need for leave, return to work, work restrictions gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use and work restrictions.

Advise employees, answer questions and enroll status in benefits plans

Coordinate accrued sick leave/PFL benefits and benefit repayment plan with employees and Payroll

Facilitate open enrollment process; work closely with benefits broker/ administrator to process new and current employee enrollments, manage qualifying life events, dependent changes, orienting employees regarding programs and coverage, and oversee enrollment intake activities

Act as subject matter expert on company benefits/leaves of absence

Serve as the main point of contact for the Wellness program; create a calendar of wellness activities and execute monthly programs
You have:

2-3 years benefits and leave experience
-
Experience with Workday and benefits/leaves management systems

Knowledge of FMLA, PDL, CFRA, ADA, COBRA

Knowledge of employee benefits and leaves of absence management
-
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to travel– be in office/site for occasional training
$75-85K
