Oil Recovery
Job Purpose
The Oil Recovery Operator performs all ingredient handling, drum dumping, oil polishing, and other related activities to support the oil recovery function.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not limited to):
1. Operates automatic and semi-automatic machines and related equipment for oil extraction.
2. Monitors flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls.
3. Makes adjustments to controls as necessary.
4. Records data in logs.
5. Diagnose process and mechanical problems in equipment and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
6. Work with procurement to prepare for sale of oil
7. Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor and takes corrective actions.
8. Performs housekeeping and CIP as required.
9. Operates forklift for plant operational purposes.
10. Performs certain tests prior to drumming
11. Follows all company policies and procedures regarding GMPs, SOPs and Quality standards.
12. Other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications include:
Education: High school diploma or GED required.
Experience: Some food or beverage production experience preferred.
Language/Communications: Ability to read and interpret basic instructional details and related information.
Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Flexibility: able to adapt to schedule changes, long and irregular hours; Willingness to cross-train and work with a variety of products and procedural changes
Physical Requirements & Environment:
This position is performed in an office and manufacturing environment. There may be exposure to noise, work near
moving mechanical parts and forklifts, citrus fumes or airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions. The employee
may be required to stand, walk and sit for long periods at a time, wear the proper protective equipment as required, climb
ladder or stairs, hear and communicate readily, use both hands and arms. Use of telephone, cell phones, a computer,
copier, and other office equipment will be required. Travel including automobile or airplane may also be required.
