Paralegal | Family Law
This temporary role offers the opportunity to support a respected family law team handling divorce, custody, and other domestic matters. The paralegal will assist attorneys by drafting pleadings, managing case files, preparing for trial, and coordinating client communications. Ideal for an organized and proactive professional, this position provides hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative legal setting.

SALARY: $28-34/hr. DOE
SCHEDULE: Full-time
*2-month temp position, November-January

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support attorneys in family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support cases, by drafting pleadings, declarations, and related legal documents.
Manage case preparation through legal research, fact gathering, organizing exhibits, and maintaining case files.
Assist with client and witness communication, including scheduling, providing updates, and preparing witnesses for depositions or trial.
Handle trial and litigation support tasks such as preparing motions and subpoenas, coordinating filings, and ensuring deadlines are met.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
2+ years’ experience as a paralegal in family law or Oregon litigation, with strong knowledge of court procedures and e-filing systems (OECI).
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and familiar with legal practice management tools such as NetDocs or ZenCase.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily office-based and involves sitting for extended periods while working at a computer, as well as occasional standing, walking, and retrieving files or documents. It may also require light lifting of office materials and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a typical professional office environment.
