LOCATION: Sacramento, CA
SALARY: $33-$34.50 | D.O.E.
SCHEDULE: Hybrid | Fulltime hours | Monday – Friday | Long term
THE ROLE
In this role, you will support the organization’s housing assistance programs by reviewing, processing, and underwriting mortgage-related files in accordance with government program requirements. You will ensure applications are complete, accurate, and compliant, while coordinating closely with applicants, internal teams, and community partners to move cases through the approval process. This position requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to interpret and apply program guidelines to a wide range of housing assistance scenarios.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and analyze loan applications and documentation for completeness and compliance with lending guidelines
- Process and underwrite mortgage loans, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal and regulatory standards
- Verify employment, income, assets, credit, title, and other supporting documents
- Prepare files for final approval and coordinate closings
- Maintain thorough and organized documentation throughout the loan cycle
- Meet targeted timelines while maintaining high accuracy and quality control standards
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 3+ years of recent mortgage processing and/or underwriting experience
- Strong understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, documentation requirements, and compliance standards
- Proficiency with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loan files at once
