Security Contractor – Head-End & IDF Technician

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Security Contractor skilled in performing head-end terminations, IDF buildouts, and system integrations for commercial security and low-voltage projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Burglar/Intrusion alarm systems, structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and network connectivity for security infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Perform head-end terminations, testing, and labeling of security and network cabling.
• Build, organize, and document Intermediate Distribution Frames (IDFs) and main equipment racks.
• Install, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling for CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
• Install, program, and test burglar and intrusion alarm panels, sensors, and related field devices.
• Perform troubleshooting and verification of intrusion zones and alarm communication paths.
• Integrate intrusion systems with access control and monitoring platforms as needed.
• Assist with device installation, including cameras, card readers, and control panels.
• Ensure all work meets industry standards and project specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to meet deadlines and quality expectations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized job site.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in head-end terminations, IDF/MDF setup, and low-voltage security system integration.
• Hands-on experience with burglar and intrusion systems installation, configuration, and testing.
• Familiarity with major security platforms (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar) a plus.
• Experience with major intrusion system manufacturers (e.g., DSC, Honeywell, Bosch, DMP, or similar).
• Knowledge of UL-listed alarm systems and applicable NFPA 731/72 security installation standards preferred.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA10 or OSHA30 certification preferred.
• Must have reliable transportation and basic hand tools.
