Position Title: Waste Water Treatment Technician
Wage: $25 - $32/ hour based on experience
Shift: 1st
Hours: 7am to 3 pm
We are seeking a Waste Water Treatment Technician to join our client's team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the proper treatment and discharge of wastewater in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. The Technician will monitor and maintain equipment, perform water sampling, and ensure all systems operate within environmental specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Effluent Analysis: Conduct regular testing of effluent to ensure compliance with discharge permits. This includes testing for total metal content, pH levels, and other relevant parameters.
• System Monitoring & Maintenance: Perform minor adjustments to pH meters, flow meters, probes, and display panels to ensure optimal operation.
• Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with EPA, city, and state wastewater treatment regulations, ensuring no citations are issued for non-compliance.
• Chemical Handling: Prepare solution tanks by adding chemicals and monitoring their effectiveness in wastewater treatment processes.
• Sludge Management: Mix waste sludge and drying agents to meet moisture specifications for sludge boxes.
• Waste Removal Coordination: Schedule and oversee the removal of water barrels, de-watered sludge, and waste oil to ensure proper disposal and system cleanliness.
• Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized work area on a daily basis to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
Education & Experience
• High School Diploma (HSD), GED, or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain a Waste Water Treatment and FL license within an established timeframe.
• Industrial Waste Water Treatment Certification (Class K license) is required.
• Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (email, Outlook calendar, etc.).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without direct supervision.
• Comfort with multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
