Position Title: Quality Engineer
Salary: $33-$39/hr based on experience
Shift: 1st Shift
Hours: 6:00AM – 4:30PM
We are looking for a Quality Engineer to join our Client’s team in a DIRECT HIRE role. The ideal candidate will have experience with ISO/AS9100 compliance and certification and will play a key role in building and shaping the Quality Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a Quality Engineer who is eager to advance their career and take the next step toward a Quality Manager position as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the quality lab and management system.
- Understand ISO/AS9100 standards and compliance along with ITAR experience.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits.
- Troubleshoot print and bill of materials problems.
- Perform inspection on first piece, in process, purchased part and finished material and products, ensuring conformance to specifications.
- Perform routine quality audits by following the work instructions, Route product for re-work.
- Complete all required records and paperwork to include inspection reports, damage reports, return reports, and re-work orders.
- Ensure finished product is packaged and loaded correctly to minimize damage during transportation.
- Analyze inspection results and assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards.
- Communicate with plant supervision noted deviations of tolerances and quality.
- Assist with ISIR, and PPAP activities as needed.
- Make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
Skills & Abilities
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to work efficiently in a small team environment.
Experience in a manufacturing quality environment required- quality engineer.
High proficiency in computer technology and systems operations
Knowledge of inspection techniques & measurement instruments to perform Gage R&R and Capability studies.
Knowledge of inspection techniques & measurement instruments including: CMM, Comparators’, Surface Plate Layout, Interpret Engineering Drawings and/or Product specifications or other defined criteria.
Utilize document control procedures, assisting and training manufacturing personnel as needed.
Education/Experience
Experience working with ISO/AS9100 Quality System is required.
A Minimum of 3+ years of quality manufacturing experience in a fast-paced contract machining environment
Prefer a bachelor’s degree in related field or High School Diploma with 8 plus years of experience.
