Experienced Refrigeration Construction General Manager to lead our client's construction division with a strong focus on operational excellence, leadership development, and estimating oversight. This individual will play a dual role—taking direct responsibility for estimating projects at the outset, while also building and mentoring a future estimating team.

The General Manager will oversee refrigeration construction projects across Florida and nearby states, ensuring alignment with company goals, financial targets, and safety standards.

  • Work exclusively on commercial units—no residential

Management Duties:

  • Provide executive leadership for the construction division, managing projects from initiation through closeout.

  • Lead, coach, and develop project managers, supervisors, and technicians to drive operational efficiency and accountability.

  • Conduct readiness evaluations to ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company quality standards.

  • Oversee project execution, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are consistently met.

  • Facilitate strong communication across departments, general contractors, and clients to maintain alignment and resolve challenges quickly.

  • Champion customer service excellence, ensuring client satisfaction and retention through professional, courteous, and solutions-driven interactions.

  • Participate in ERP transition, ensuring seamless adoption of the new system for project reporting, scheduling, and team operations.

Estimator Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for reviewing plans, preparing accurate bids, and submitting proposals for refrigeration construction projects.

  • Analyze project costs, labor, and materials to ensure profitability and alignment with company financial targets.

  • Collaborate with leadership to set pricing strategies and refine estimating processes.

  • Transition into an oversight role once an estimator is hired, providing mentorship and ensuring high standards of estimating accuracy and efficiency. Additional Duties:

  • Monitor safety compliance, enforce OSHA standards, and maintain a culture of proactive risk management.

  • Identify and implement training programs to enhance field team capabilities, technical knowledge, and career growth.

  • Support sales and business development efforts by aligning construction operations with client needs and revenue goals.

  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring project profitability and effective resource allocation.

  • Travel as required within Florida and occasionally to Georgia to support field teams and key client relationships (light travel expected with strong leadership in place).

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of construction leadership experience, with at least three (3) years in refrigeration construction.

  • Proven track record in project estimating with the ability to manage full-cycle bidding responsibilities.

  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success in cost control, profitability management, and resource allocation.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Strong client relationship management skills and a collaborative leadership style.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift, carry, or otherwise move and position objects which may weigh up to 50 pounds.
