This position supports the HR functions by processing and managing payroll, staffing, and participating as a part of the HR team with development, execution, and adherence to all HR related processes.

 

This position is within the Corporate Division and reports to the Director, Human Resources and IT.

Additionally, this position may serve as a consultant to employees and board members, including participation on the Board and Staff Development Committee.

 

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

• Accurately processes biweekly payroll for multi-entity, multi-state organization with various compensation models and high-volume seasonal business (Hourly, Salary, Tips, Commission, Bonus, etc.) through Paycor, including garnishments, benefits, and taxes consistent with federal, and state wage and hour laws.

• Oversee time entry and approvals in Paycor while ensuring managers are properly trained on procedures.

• Time clock management and processes – enrolling, creating credentials, manage punches, assist managers with entry.

• Investigate, communicate, and resolve pay discrepancies.

• Administer wage garnishments and tax notices through Paycor.

• Execute background check process for new hires

• Generate payroll and other ad hoc reports and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.

• Work with Accounting on payroll state tax registrations.

• Ensure accurate setup of State & Local tax jurisdiction for quarterly filing and reporting by Paycor.

• Generate W-2 and other documents for employees as required by federal, state and local regulations.

• Year-end form 1095-C administration.

• Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll functions and ensure policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.

• Recommend improvements in payroll and control processes, ensuring that identified opportunities are implemented successfully and meet latest legal mandates.

• Maintain Paycor as the employee file and administer access permissions, payroll specific data such as tax and pay class, record employee life-cycle changes post-onboarding, identifying process/procedure improvement recommendations and implementation.

• Provide annual open enrollment support and assist in the administration and processing of employee benefits programs including medical, dental vision, std/ltd, supplemental insurances etc.

• Manage hospitality staffing, onboarding, and off boarding ensuring consistency. Collaborate with hospitality managers on job posting, resume screening and participating in interviews as needed; specifically focusing on seasonal hiring ramping up in November and ending in May.

 

Skills/ Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience processing non-exempt and exempt payroll for multi-entity, multi-state organization with 300+ employees.

• Understanding of federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

• Proficiency with Paycor REQUIRED

• 6 months – 1 year HR Generalist experience (or willing to learn)

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

• Commitment to work in a highly seasonal business Nov through May which requires flexible work hours and ability to work through Nov-Jan holiday period.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

• Computer proficiency in all Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

• Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while adhering to strict deadlines/timelines.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Strong problem solving, clear decision making, and critical thinking skills.
