Behavioral Health Coordinator needed for one of our client's in the Ft. Pierce, FL area.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Greets patients, visitors, vendors and directs them to the appropriate staff members.

  • Assist in keeping the office running efficiently by performing clerical duties, such as answering telephones, photocopying, faxing, and providing quality customer service.

  • Ensures all patient information is captured into Phreesia and converted into Athena during the check-in process.

  • Obtains patient demographic and insurance information, verifies insurance eligibility in advance, and enters accurate information in the electronic health record.

  • Collect and process payment due for visit and complete daily reconciliation process.

  • Process patients Sliding Scale program application and enter all necessary information in the EMR.

  • Ensures waiting areas and reception areas are kept neat and clean.

  • Assists in the delivery of behavioral healthcare including direct supervision of clients as part of the therapeutic behavioral health team. Communicates with Behavioral Health Practitioner/Behavioral Health Supervisor regarding behavioral observations and provides appropriate clinical interventions for managing client’s conduct as guided.

  • Works with insurance plans and clinicians providing supporting documentation to obtain pre-authorization of medications and/or services in accordance with payer guidelines.

  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries.

  • Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions.

  • Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.

  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival.

  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.

  • Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.

  • Maintains professional behavior, and attitude towards patients, visitors, and coworkers.

  • Checks patients out and schedules follow up appointments as directed by the provider.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

  • May occasionally need to travel from one clinic to another for coverage.

 

Education & Training

  • 1 year experience medical front office or behavioral health setting (Preferred)

  • High school diploma or GED required.

 

Experience

  • One to three years of progressive work experience in a medical office setting.

 

Requirements

  • Level 2 background clearance required.

  • Proof of immunizations for MMR, HEP B vaccination, and either a history of chicken pox (varicella), or documentation of the varicella vaccine, and a PPD Test at time of hire.

 

 

Schedule:

Must be capable of working Monday through Friday between 7:30am - 6:00pm

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
