Audit Manager, CPA, for future partner-track with 2-10 years of experience in public accounting.

 

Responsible for leading and managing audit engagements, with a focus on not-for-profit and CIRA clients. This role requires a deep understanding of not-for-profit and CIRA accounting principles, excellent project management skills, and the ability to foster strong client relationships. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in auditing including planning, performing and reviewing audit engagements. This individual should be very organized, dependable, professional, and a quick learner. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with clients and provide strategic advice, contributing to their financial success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning through completion, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

  • Develop audit strategies and risk assessments tailored to each client's unique environment.

  • Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing guidance and technical expertise.

  • Review financial statements and audit reports for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

  • Communicate effectively with clients to address issues, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction.

  • Stay current on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting not-for-profit organizations.

  • Assist in business development efforts by identifying opportunities for additional services and maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • EA, CPA or CPA candidate

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant audit experience in public accounting.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAS, GAAP, not-for-profit accounting standards.

  • Proficiency in audit software (e.g., Advance Flow, GoFileRoom) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent leadership, project management, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with audit research tools (e.g., CCH, RIA Checkpoint) is a plus.

Position requirements:

  • EA, CPA or CPA candidate

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in accounting or tax

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • 5+ years of recent tax return preparation or auditing within a public accounting firm

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to learn

  • Flexible schedule during busy seasons

 

$70,000 - $90,000/yr
