Madden Industrial Craftsmen is partnered with a leading aerospace metal finishing company seeking an experienced Planner III – Lead. This role is responsible for developing processing job cards, coordinating production schedules, optimizing workflow, and ensuring accurate processing of customer specifications. The Planner III – Lead also trains and mentors Planners, oversees departmental KPIs, and serves as the main point of contact for all planning-related ERP and workflow improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all established quality management system procedures and work instructions.

  • Review planned and released orders through daily and weekly reports.

  • Develop short- and long-term capacity plans; adjust schedules and priorities as needed.

  • Review repeat jobs for specification changes prior to releasing to production.

  • Coordinate production schedules with department leads and ensure timely workflow execution.

  • Analyze production tracking reports and detect operational or scheduling conflicts.

  • Resolve production/processing issues by collaborating with technical staff.

  • Drive production priorities across multiple departments.

  • Train, mentor, and support new and experienced Planners.

  • Monitor and report daily KPIs for the Planning Department.

  • Serve as the Planning Department’s POC in production meetings.

  • Act as the SME for ERP changes, workflow improvements, and technical implementations.

  • Recommend and implement new procedures and policies to increase planning efficiency.

  • Verify pricing accuracy when applicable.

  • Support continuous improvement through advanced problem-solving techniques.

  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing coordination

  • 5+ years of direct aerospace plating or metal finishing experience, including processes such as: Anodize, Hardcoat, Chrome, Cadmium, Nickel, Copper

  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a planning, scheduling, or production environment

  • High proficiency in blueprint reading, specification interpretation, and customer requirement analysis

  • Strong understanding of capacity planning, resource allocation, and workflow optimization

  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems; experience leading workflow or process changes preferred

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook

  • Skilled in using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, mentoring, and team-building skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with continuous improvement experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent stooping, crouching, walking, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motion

  • Must have close visual acuity and the ability to distinguish color (Pseudochromatic plate test)

  • May work in environments with dust, odors, or fumes
