Sandblaster

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking experienced Sandblasters for multiple projects in the Portland, OR area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface preparation using sandblasting equipment, ensuring high-quality finishes for industrial and manufacturing applications. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: Day and Swing

Pay: $25-28/hr DOE

Responsibilities

• Operate sandblasting equipment to clean, prepare, and finish surfaces of metal, concrete, or other materials.

• Set up and maintain blasting equipment, ensuring proper function and safety compliance.

• Inspect surfaces before and after blasting to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.

• Follow safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE (respirators, gloves, protective suits, etc.).

• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and maintain a clean work environment.

• Handle and dispose of abrasive materials in accordance with environmental and safety regulations.

• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions to supervisors.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a sandblaster in industrial or manufacturing settings.

• Proficiency in operating various sandblasting equipment (e.g., pressure blasters, vacuum blasters).

• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques and abrasive materials (e.g., silica, glass beads, steel grit).

• Strong understanding of safety protocols and OSHA regulations related to sandblasting.

• Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in confined spaces or outdoor environments.

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
