Heavy Duty Equipment Technician

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician for our client in Portland, OR. This person will maintain and repair heavy-duty diesel equipment (forklifts, cranes, balers, conveyors) through diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance. Ensure safe, efficient operations while adhering to safety protocols.

Pay: $37-39

Shift: Monday-Friday 6am to 2:30pm.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and 12/24V electrical systems.

• Perform preventive maintenance and welding as needed.

• Communicate effectively with operators about repairs and equipment status

• Maintain a safe work environment and follow all regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• 2-5 years of related experience preferred.

• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and active learning skills.

• Knowledge of equipment repair, hydraulics, electrical systems, and welding.

• Driver license.

Tool Requirements:

• Basic hand tool set (personal).

• Shop tools provided: sledgehammers, pry bars, chains, hoists, jack stands, hydraulic jacks.

Working Conditions:

• Indoor/outdoor, all weather conditions.

• Work on heavy equipment, balers, and conveyors.

Physical Demands:

• Lift up to 50 lbs. (average 30 lbs.).

• Bend (20% of time), reach/handle (30% of time), and twist (up to 90% as needed).
