Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled Commercial Construction Project Engineer for a direct hire role with an organization based out of Beaverton, OR. Training will occur in Beaverton, OR and Gresham, OR. After training, you will spend the next 3-5 years supporting an upcoming major commercial project in Washougal, WA.
Pay: $75,000-$105,000/year base
Commercial Construction Project Engineer Responsibilities:

Establish a thorough understanding of each project’s scope and approach, in addition to interpreting construction documents and technical manuals.

Lead PE team in writing, publishing, and distributing: meeting minutes, schedule graphs, and activities checklists; be point person for all required documentation efforts.

Represent organization as needed with municipal agents, vendors,

subcontractors, tenants, etc.

Work very closely with Project Manager(s) to process contracts, cost estimates, and change orders.

Deeply understand budgets and work timetables, using reports received from the PM/Superintendent to make adjustments daily or weekly, as needed.

Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings are documented.

Work with the team to develop project strategies, handle unexpected issues and delays,and create effective solutions to problems when necessary.

Communicate safety protocols regularly.

Work with the Project Manager(s) to assist on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and warranty items.

Complete projects and special assignments, as requested.
Commercial Construction Project Engineer Qualifications:

3-5 years (at minimum 3 years) of proven working experience at a General Contractor in the commercial construction/engineering industry as a field engineer or project engineer.

Highly detail-oriented and organized.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Thoroughly understands construction methods and technologies, including interpreting contracts, technical drawings, and specifications.

Demonstrated understanding of project scheduling, specifically critical path activities.

Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet, or similar construction management software.

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, mechanical engineering architecture, or equivalent industry-specific experience preferred.

Must possess a current driver’s license and a safe driving record; must be able to be insured to drive company vehicles.
