Madden Industrial Craftsmen is looking for a Maintenance Technician to fill a Direct Hire position for a client located in Hillsboro, Oregon who specializes in food production.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs highly diversified duties to support the mechanics to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the facility.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Performs routine equipment inspection, monitoring, lubrication, wastewater treatment and required troubleshooting

  • Supports mechanics in maintenance including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.

  • Supports Mechanics for preventive maintenance of the equipment.

  • Takes production calls for equipment troubleshooting

  • Supports mechanics for inventory management

  • Supports by operating the wastewater treatment plant

  • Maintains proper housekeeping in the maintenance shop, fab, and other working areas

  • Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.

  • Performs other/additional duties and projects that may be periodically assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Knowledge of mechanical and equipment maintenance techniques and practices; computerized preventive maintenance programs. Ability to operate equipment/tools/machinery to make appropriate repairs. Ability to examine machines and determine defects in operation. Ability to speak, read, and write English at the level necessary to successfully perform assigned responsibilities.

EDUCATION

High school education or GED required.

TRAINING

ISO training and Hyster training preferred.

EXPERIENCE (TYPE & DURATION)

1-3 years of experience in performing maintenance work.

 

 

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequently uses decision making, interpersonal, teamwork, creativity, problem analysis, and basic math skills. Work includes continuously standing, walking, stooping, crawling, fingering, reaching, feeling, bending, kneeling, grasping and handling; frequently talking and hearing. Position may lift and carry up to 500 pounds with the aid of hoist and rollers, and lifts and carries up to 50 pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work performed in a food processing plant setting. Job may require extended hours and shift work, with exposure to hazardous chemicals, production machinery, high noise level, and constant standing on concrete surfaces. Position is also on a rotating on-call status.
