Position Overview

The Machine Operator I is responsible for operating and maintaining the assigned workstation machinery to ensure quality production. This role involves the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of machines while adhering to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety procedures and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.

  • Learn and operate specific machinery to ensure efficient production cycles.

  • Review work orders and production schedules to determine job specifications.

  • Set up machines, align materials, and adjust controls for proper operation.

  • Monitor production runs and perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and templates.

  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and lubrication of machines.

  • Maintain productivity while minimizing raw material waste.

  • Complete all assigned tasks and responsibilities as directed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machine operations.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and ensure optimal performance.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to follow written instructions and diagrams accurately.

  • Strong math skills, including fractions, percentages, and precise measurements.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a team.

  • Good attendance and punctuality record.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Education & Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • 0-2 years of experience operating machinery in a manufacturing/production environment.

  • Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods.

  • Repetitive use of hands for operating machinery.

  • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be comfortable working in proximity to loud equipment and in confined spaces.

  • Must be able to climb ladders, scaffolds, and stairs as needed.
