Job Summary:
We are looking for reliable and motivated Punch Press Operator for the Gurnee area. The Punch Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining punch press machines used in the production of metal parts. This individual ensures that all parts meet quality standards and that production goals are achieved while maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
Pay Rate: $22/hr
Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate mechanical and/or hydraulic punch press machines

Load metal sheets or coils into the press, ensuring correct alignment and setup

Run parts based on blueprints, work orders, or customer specifications
-
Inspect finished pieces using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure quality and accuracy

Adjust machine settings such as pressure, depth, and stroke length when needed
-
Identify and report any machine malfunctions or quality issues
-
Maintain accurate production records and documentation

Keep the work area clean and comply with all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Requirements:

Experience: Previous punch press or metal fabrication experience required

Language: Must speak and understand English

Technical skills: Ability to read blueprints, use measuring tools, and follow production specs

Physical ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods

Attention to detail: Strong focus on accuracy, safety, and product quality

Teamwork: Works well with others and communicates effectively with supervisors and coworkers

Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality are essential
