QA Job Description Summary:


The QA Technician is responsible of ensuring that the manufacturing process is carried in a food safe and wholesome manner. The QA Technician is also responsible for identifying and resolving quality issues, working hand in hand with operations and checking that all products are manufactured according to the correct product specification and flow. The QA Technician needs to be familiar with HACCP and GMP. The QA Technicians reports to the SQF Practitioner.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work standing or walking in cold environment (below 40 °F) for most working shifts.
  • Perform very physical duties, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, lifting, twisting, and walking.
  • Provide independent oversight of processes, verifying compliance to company standards and policies
  • Maintain a clear understanding of Quality Assurance Programs and SOPs.
  • Adhere to all regulatory rules and regulations, ensuring that Food Safety and product performance standards are met.
  • Monitor HACCP critical control points
  • Enforce GMPs
  • Calibrate and maintain equipment
  • Responsible for placing equipment and product on hold.
  • Verify the concentrations of the chemicals and sanitizers.
  • Perform daily Pre-operational inspections and Pre-op ATP testing.
  • Conduct product and process testing.
  • Monitor and assure compliance of allergen management, Organic processing, and USDA standards.
  • Develop and maintain operational quality standards, traceability, batch sheets and specification sheets.
  • Use all safety equipment and PPE the company provides according to instructions.


Skills:


  • Recommended to have quality experience in a fresh food manufacturing environment
  • Food Safety Skills: Recommended to have GMP’s, HACCP, CCP experience.
  • Recommended to demonstrate experience with internal quality inspections and audits
  • Maintain a positive work environment
  • Must be willing to work designated shifts
  • Note: Flexibility with schedule and available to work overtime when needed.


Steel toe shoe or boot/non-slip required for everyone in all departments.


Shift: 2nd shift 2:00-Finish


Please have all temporary employees read and understand the attached GMP training (available in English and Spanish), and sign page 8 before reporting to Edible Cuts on the first day of their assignment. They should bring the signed page 8 with them and give it to the Assessor when they check in.
