We are currently looking for a Certified Plumber. This skilled professional is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. The plumber works independently or as part of a team, ensuring all projects are completed efficiently and to code.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Installs, repairs, and maintains pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems, including gas lines.
- Performs regular inspections and preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to identify and address potential issues.
- Diagnoses plumbing problems and provides effective solutions, including the use of specialized tools and equipment like drain snakes and hydro-jetting machines.
- Interprets blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems and to ensure proper installation.
- Adheres to all relevant plumbing codes, regulations, and safety standards to ensure the safety and legality of all work.
- Cuts, threads, and welds pipes using hand tools and power equipment.
- Repairs or replaces leaky faucets, toilets, and other fixtures.
- Assists in the installation of large appliances such as water heaters and dishwashers.
- Maintains accurate records of all work performed, including time, materials used, and a description of services
- Communicates effectively with customers and team members, providing clear explanations and excellent customer service.
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
- Knowledge of Plumbing Systems: A thorough understanding of water supply, drainage, and waste disposal systems.
- Blueprint Interpretation: The ability to read and understand plumbing blueprints and technical drawings.
- Tool Proficiency: Skill in using a wide range of plumbing tools and equipment, including wrenches, pipe cutters, soldering torches, and diagnostic tools.
- Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to diagnose complex plumbing issues and determine the most effective repair or installation method.
- Code Compliance: Familiarity with local, state, and national plumbing codes and regulations.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to work in various physical positions, including bending, kneeling, and crawling, and to lift heavy materials and equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Apprentice, Journeyman or Master Plumber Certification.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Backflow prevention certification.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Minimum Education
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Completion of a certified apprenticeship program or vocational training in plumbing.
Working Environment
- Work is often performed in diverse conditions, including indoors and outdoors, in confined spaces like crawl spaces and attics, and at varying heights.
- Exposure to dirt, dust, loud noises, and extreme temperatures is common.
- The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy objects (e.g., pipes, water heaters).
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Physical Strength: Ability to exert up to 75 pounds of force occasionally and/or 40 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
- Mobility: Must be able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
- Dexterity: Requires excellent manual dexterity for the use of hand tools and intricate pipe work.
- Visual: Ability to see details at close range to perform precise work and to read blueprints.
- Mental: The ability to understand and follow complex instructions and to make quick, informed decisions under pressure.

- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
