Rate of Pay:

$15 - $19/hr


The Welder will perform welding work involving the fabrication, assembly, installation, and repair of metals and other weldable materials. Must be able to use different techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick and Arc.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, overhead).
  • Operate angle grinders and other tools to prepare metal parts.
  • Set up components for welding according to specifications.
  • Determine appropriate welding equipment and methods based on project requirements.
  • Inspect and test welded surfaces and structures to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in proper working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Document work completed and report any issues or defects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Resume or Detailed Job History Required. 
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience performing essential job functions listed which could include experience gained through a technical training program.  
  • Must be able to pass a Background Check and Drug Screening

Preferred Qualifications / Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 1-3 years of welding experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or construction setting.
  • Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Arc welding techniques.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Familiarity with safety practices and PPE requirements.

Working Environment

  • Work is performed in various settings, including industrial plants, construction sites, and maintenance areas.
  • Exposure to high heat, bright light, loud noises, and fumes is common.
  • May be exposed to loud noises, dust, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • May require work in confined spaces, elevated platforms, or underground areas.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, hard hats, and steel-toe boots must be worn.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in various positions (e.g., laying down, vertical, overhead) for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Capable of climbing ladders, scaffolding, and working at heights.
  • Manual dexterity and physical strength to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Must be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Visual acuity (corrected or uncorrected) is sufficient to operate equipment safely and read documents.
  • Hearing ability (corrected or uncorrected) sufficient to hear and understand instructions and warnings in a noisy environment.
