The Warehouse Housekeeper is responsible for performing a variety of custodial job tasks throughout the warehouse to ensure warehouse is properly maintained and clean.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  •  Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing 


  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards 


  • Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies 


  • Notify superiors on any damages, deficits and disturbances 


  • Daily Duties: Proactive cleaning, Proper storage of cleaning equipment, Minimizing clutter, Vacuuming, Use of cleaning chemicals, Cleaning bathrooms, Taking out the trash, Mopping, Sweeping, Dusting, 


  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 15 - 20lbs, Bend, Stoop, Reach, Stand / Walk constantly, Move quickly and efficiently, 


  • Must be comfortable cleaning protein spills. Preferred janitorial/custodial experience 


  • Know their chemicals and safety protocols 


  • Punctual and good attendance 


  • Professional appearance and communication 

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Able to work in cold/hot warehouse.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Physically active 

 

Preferred Qualifications (optional)

  •  Bilingual

  • Experience in warehouse environment

  • Must be comfortable with a repetitive job task.

 

 

Working Environment

 Work areas are typical of a warehouse which includes working around floors that may be damp and slick due to spills, and other hazards. Worker is exposed to noise from machinery and big trucks. Exposure to cleaning solvents. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.


Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handling, reach outward, reach above shoulder, crawl, squat/Kneel, bend, push and pull frequently. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on work surface.

  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities to move or transport 25 to 50 pounds, including pressing against something to force it in a forward, downward or outward position or drag, haul 25 to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending spine at waist, and bending legs at knees and moving extremities in any direction

  • Ability to withstand physical demands on the body, including being in a stationary and/or standing position most of the day

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly.

  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
