Monday – Friday, Occasional Weekends, 7am – 5pm but must be flexible with hours and days 

Rate of Pay:

$13 - $15.00/hr




The General Construction Laborer is responsible for supporting construction projects and assisting specialized workers such as electricians, painters, and heavy equipment operators to ensure the construction project is completed on time.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Clean work areas, tools, equipment, and materials

  • Lift, carry, and hold building materials, tools, and supplies

  • Dig, spread, and level dirt and gravel using picks, rakes, and shovels

  • Set up and take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures

  • Must be able to use various tools such as drills, hammers, screwdrivers, wrenches, levels, lifts, grinders, saws, pressure washers, and other water-spraying equipment. 

  • Move between jobs as projects progress and work is available

  • Work with other workers in a cooperative manner

  • Perform general labor work

  • Improve skill sets and work towards promotion to a skilled craft position

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have own transportation and valid Driver's License

  • Must be able to pass background check 

  • Must be able to pass drug screening

  • Knowledge of manual tools such as hammers, wrenches, sockets, drills, tape measures, levels

  • Basic math skills and ability to use a calculator for percentages, division, multiplication

  • Ability to understand and carry out work orders

  • Able to lift 50 – 80 lbs.

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions and environmental conditions, position is generally outdoors

  • Steel-toed shoes, a hard hat and a vest are required

  • The ability to communicate in English is required

  • Must be flexible with schedule.  Work hours and work days may vary depending on the needs of the business and the deadlines to finish the project. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 year of construction or general labor experience

Working Environment

Must be able to work outdoors with exposure to harsh smells, loud noise, and all types of temperatures.  Are often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Are sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors. Must be able to lift to 80 lbs.  

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Exerting up to 80 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handle, reach outward, reach above shoulder, crawl, squat/Kneel, bend, push, and pull frequently. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on a work surface.

  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities to move or transport 25 to 80 pounds, including pressing against something to force it in a forward, downward, or outward position or drag, haul 25 to 80 pounds

  • Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist, bending legs at the knees, and moving extremities in any direction

  • Ability to withstand physical demands on the body, including being in a stationary and/or standing position most of the day

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas using the spoken word, including where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly

  • Ability to understand, remember, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information

  • Sense of Sound (answering phone, fire alarms, horns)
