$16.00/hr +




The Assembly / Hook-Up Technician is responsible for performing a variety of duties including but not limited to engaging in shipping, receiving, hooking up and disassembling transformers in an outside environment.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Working in a transformer tool yard shipping, receiving, hooking up and disassembling transformers
  • Must have experience working OUTSIDE in all weather conditions, position will be in a tool yard with extended periods of standing outside in all types of weather
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Working outside in the tool yard, you will get dirty.  If the weather is dry, it will be dusty with caliche dust, if it’s raining, you will be getting wet. You will be working in the heat and in the cold. 


Minimum Qualifications

  • Stable Work History
  • Positive and good team member
  • Ability to understand and carry out work orders
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Steel toed shoes required
  • Ability to communicate in English is required
  • Must be able to pass background check (No Burglary or Theft)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some welding knowledge would be helpful (minimum 17.50 with a welding certificate)
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn how to use basic tools
  • Experience working in a mechanical field or position

Working Environment

Must be able to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to chemical smells, loud noise and all types of temperatures.  Are often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Are sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors. Must be able to lift to 50lbs.  

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handling, reach outward, reach above shoulder, crawl, squat/Kneel, bend, push and pull frequently. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on work surface.
  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities to move or transport 25 to 50 pounds, including pressing against something to force it in a forward, downward or outward position or drag, haul 25 - 50 pounds
  • Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending spine at waist, and bending legs at knees and moving extremities in any direction
  • Ability to withstand physical demands on the body, including being in a stationary and/or standing position most of the day
  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly
  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
