The Brush Clean Up Worker is responsible for performing a variety of duties including but not limited to removing and clearing land for construction, to remove infestation, or to control growth along utility, highway, or railroad right-of-way.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Clearing brush, debris and trash from construction sites. 

  • Clearing brush, debris and trash from local parks, along highways, near utility areas and railroad right of way. 

  • Use of a variety of equipment such as excavator dozers, track loaders, hand tools cut, clean and removed unwanted vegetation and trees

  • Loading and unloading materials and equipment. 

  • Following instructions from supervisors 

  • Identify and report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisor

  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols


Minimum Qualifications

  • Must have own transportation as you will supervisor at various job sites

  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

  • Must be comfortable coming across all types of animals, insects and reptiles that may be associated with overgrowth and brush 

  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs

  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.

  • Must have an outgoing and positive attitude, willingness to learn new skills

  • Reliable and Punctual


Working Environment

Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.  Will be exposed to a variety of animals, insects and reptiles that are normally associate with brush overgrowth and water areas.  Are often exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Are sometimes exposed to very hot or very cold temperatures when working outdoors. Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.  

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, handling, reach outward, reach above shoulder, crawl, squat/Kneel, bend, push and pull frequently. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on work surface.

  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities to move or transport 50 to 70 pounds, including pressing against something to force it in a forward, downward or outward position or drag, haul 50 to 70 pounds

  • Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending spine at waist, and bending legs at knees and moving extremities in any direction

  • Ability to withstand physical demands on the body, including being in a stationary and/or standing position most of the day

  • Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, including where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly or quickly

  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
