Job Summary

Event Custodial Staff are responsible for setting up booths and prepping set up for the final stages of event,  along with cleaning and maintaining area. Moreover, event staff will need to be constantly be on their feet. 


Typical setup activities include, putting up the pipe and drape configuration that creates booths, placing decorations, setting out materials and inventory, pick up and drop off inventory as well as help take down events, taking inventory of all items and packing them so they are ready for easy use at the next event

 

Essential Functions:

  • Unloading equipment from trucks and setting up venues for events
  • Working under the instructions of an area chairman
  • Ensuring the event hall/ booth is clean and organized.
  • Inspecting equipment for damage after use and checking it against an inventory list.
  • Packing up equipment when the event is completed.
  • Dispose of all waste in line with recycling policy

  • Wipes and cleans tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas



Minimum Qualification

  • Flexible around working days and hours, including weekends and occasional nights.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Knowledge of basic cleaning products

    • Ability to perform under stress and time frame 
    • Excellent multitasking ability.
  • Follow directions and able to adapt to change


Physical and Mental Requirements

  • This job involves heavy lifting and long periods of standing and walking long distances

  • Frequent climbing and descending of steps

  • Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.

  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals / solutions

  • Repetitive motion 

  • Stooping, grasping

  • Ability to maintain productivity requirements in a fast-paced facility

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.

  • Ability to remember and communicate routine, factual information.

  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology

  • Ability to apply common sense and make decisions which have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit

  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.

  • Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly

 

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

 

Work Environment

Work areas are typical of event facility, Worker is exposed to noise from cleaning equipment. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
