Job Summary
Kitchen Utility Worker are responsible for assisting the catering/kitchen staff with all aspects of kitchen work.

Essential Functions:
Collecting, scraping, washing and preparing dishes for dishwasher
Dispose of all waste in line with recycling policy
Maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
Assisting with setting up banquet tables and moving food areas as needed
Maintaining cleanliness of banquet tables and serving areas
Assisting catering staff with loading and unloading boxes of food and materials to prepare for events
Stocking and/or putting away kitchen supplies, food and items
Minimum Qualification
Flexible around working days and hours, including weekends and occasional nights.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail
Knowledge of basic cleaning products
Follow directions and able to adapt to change
Physical and Mental Requirements
This job involves heavy lifting and long periods of standing and walking long distances
Lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
Exposure to cleaning chemicals / solutions
Ability to maintain productivity requirements in a fast-paced facility
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
Ability to remember and communicate routine, factual information.
Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
Ability to apply common sense and make decisions which have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit
Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines.

Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older

Work Environment
Work areas are typical of a commercial kitchen which includes working around floors that may be damp and slick due to spills, and other hazards. Worker is exposed to noise from food prep and cleaning equipment. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
