Freight Buyer

LSI Staffing is in need of a Freight Buyer for one of our manufacturing clients. This position will be responsible for actively negotiating deals for freight services to the help our client save on cost cutting measures. This is approximately a 4 week assignment. A background check and drug screen will be required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Evaluate current third party logistics arrangements for inbound and outbound freight

• Evaluate the market and develop opportunities for improved ways of working from a consolidated approach

• Deliver target savings from NA freight agreement

• Introduce best practice into freight arrangements with third party logistics

• Develop program for delivery of objects

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

• High level of analytical, verbal, and written presentation skills

• Experience in manufacturing environments, high volume and low volume scale

• Capable in supplier negotiation and supplier performance management

• Experience of supply chain systems, EDI/barcoding, etc.

• Willingness to travel
