POSITION TITLE: GENERAL WAREHOUSE HELPER

Training will be provided for qualified dedicated candidates*

 

REPORTS TO: Manufacturing/Fabricating Supervisor

 

SUMMARY

Assists in Production activities associated with running machines including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Visually inspect completed units and contact Manufacturing Supervisor or Lead Person for suspect product.

 

Ensure proper placement of unit tags and cover sheets and correct stacking patterns.

 

Make neat units with proper number of bands on each unit.

 

Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

 

Set-up rails, print, and die cut section on Flexo/Die Cutter accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.

 

Inspect all dies before and after run to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.

 

Add ink to machine, check and maintain proper viscosity and pH.

 

Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.

 

Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.

 

Conduct all box checks according to the Process Control Plan and Product Quality Verification Form (PQV).

 

Check anilox rolls for damage.

 

Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.

 

Assist Flexo Folder Gluer Operator and Flexo Folder Gluer Assistant with job duties on the machine.

 

Cross-train on other machines and departments.

 

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

 

Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.

 

Switch duties with Flexo Folder Gluer Assistant as necessary.

 

Notify supervision for needed repairs.

 

Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.

 

Wears personal protective equipment at all times in the production area.

 

Adheres to production schedule.

 

Report to work on time as scheduled.

 

Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.

 

Additional duties may be assigned by management.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED.

 

Candidates are PREFERRED who offer the following:

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

  • 2 months’ experience as a Press Department Helper.

  • 2 months’ experience in the Press and Finishing Department.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and follow instructions in Basic English.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.

 

The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The employee works in and around heavy machinery. The employee works around moving equipment fork lift drivers, in a tight space. The employee is regularly exposed to hot and humid climate. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee is frequently exposed to wet, hot (up to 110 F), and humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is loud.
