The Blending Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, Supervision of the Blending Department products and personnel to meet the needs of both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes MRP and existing blend schedule and makes changes as needed to protect customer needs

  • Analyzes raw materials needs based on the schedule and coordinates delivery with the production scheduler and warehouse manager

  • Directs and manages the daily work of the Blending Department personnel

  • Ensures the department goals and objectives are being achieved 

  • Request Blends for the Blending of scheduled product 

  • Ensures all raw material and finished product samples are submitted to the lab for approval while following Lab instructions 

  • Responsible for keeping the Blending area and the rail yard clean and maintaining a safe work environment

  • Follow, monitor, and enforce all Safety and Environmental policies

  • Continuously looking to improve the workforce through training, hiring of new personnel, or meetings with employees

  • Coordinate Blending needs and problems with the Lab, Scheduling and Production

  • Monitor daily Tank & Railcar Inventory

  • Daily problem-solving on issues for all shifts 

  • Responsible for Blending personnel evaluations

  • Bulk product prep for daily trucks  

  • Perform other duties as assigned 


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 3+ years of Supervisory experience in manufacturing industry (oil industry preferred)

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

  • Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills 

  • Highly organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to read and follow complex Blending instructions 

  • Above average computer software skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook), MRP/ERP (preferably Deacom) 

  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems

  • Ability to log and convey detailed work history of blends 

  • Basic understanding of product families and compatibility (follow charts) 

  • Knowledge of raw materials, processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing department efficiencies

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources  

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Frequent lifting, bending, sitting, standing, and climbing on/under railcars

  • Ability to work mandatory overtime

  • Ability to work productively and safely
