The Maintenance & Safety Technician plays a vital role focused on maintaining safety and operational standards. This position requires attentive and proactive action in ensuring that equipment, tools, and facilities are kept in optimal working condition and comply with strict safety regulations. The technician is responsible for routinely inspecting, assessing, and performing necessary repairs or adjustments to equipment to prevent potential hazards or disruptions. Additionally, they must ensure that all facilities meet industry standards and comply with legal requirements by conducting regular safety audits and implementing necessary improvements. This role involves a steadfast commitment to promoting a safe working environment while enhancing operational efficiency.
Education & Experience
High school diploma required; additional technical or mechanical training/certification preferred.
3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
Familiar with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating manuals, and maintenance instructions.
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
Strong problem-solving and reasoning skills.
Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and cleanroom production.
Understanding of press machines, polymers, foils, materials, and basic electrical circuits.
Awareness of quality control methods and procedures.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and regularly move items weighing 50–100 lbs.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, climbing, and handling of tools and materials.
Occasional sitting, kneeling, or crawling as needed.
Requires good vision (close, distance, color, depth perception, and focus).
Work Environment
Exposure to production-related odors and moving machinery.
