3.    Communication: Regular communication with those inside the space is crucial. The Hole Watcher maintains visible contact and relays important information promptly.

4.    Emergency Response: In case of an emergency, the Hole Watcher raises the alarm and initiates evacuation procedures. However, they do not enter the confined space for rescue; that task is left to trained professionals.

5.    Ventilation: Monitoring air quality is essential. Hole Watchers use portable monitors to sample the air and detect any toxic fumes or combustible gases.

6.    Atmospheric Conditions: They stay alert to changes in atmospheric conditions, such as temperature, humidity, and oxygen levels.
