Location: Atlanta, GA
Starting Pay: $16.50
Schedule:
- Thursday to Sunday, with two shift options available:
- 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, portion, cook, and present a variety of hot and cold food items accurately and efficiently for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and special or catered events.
- Operate kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, wash, peel, cut, shred fruits and vegetables, and trim and cut meats, poultry, or fish.
- Cook food to order and operate a grill station or a la carte service as needed.
- Follow recipes and directions for seasoning, cooking, carving, and serving food items.
- Taste products, read menus, estimate food requirements, and maintain accurate records to plan production needs.
- Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and corporate standards regarding food safety, sanitation, and hygiene.
- Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following established guidelines.
- Attend required training sessions on allergy awareness, foodborne illness, HACCP policies, and safety protocols.
- Report accidents and injuries promptly, and participate in regular safety meetings and hazard assessments.
- Receive inventory, move and lift food supplies, and cater to special dietary requirements as necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 0 to 2 years of related cooking or food preparation experience.
- Knowledge of basic kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
- Ability to read and follow recipes unsupervised.
- Professional demeanor with strong ethics and honesty.
- Effective communication skills to interact with co-workers, managers, and customers respectfully.
- Basic computer proficiency preferred.
Essential Functions:
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Frequently moves food supplies and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 40 pounds.
- Constantly positions self to prepare food items and operate kitchen equipment, including reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoor kitchen environment, occasionally supporting outdoor activities and events.
- Exposed to kitchen equipment and sharp tools such as knives and slicers daily.
- Frequently exposed to hot cooking surfaces and occasionally to very hot or cold temperatures.
- Noise level typically moderate to loud.
- Work closely with others, sharing workspace and equipment.
