Position: Structural Steel Project Manager
Salary: $100,00 - $110,000 /annually
Location: Oakdale, CA
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:00am - 3:45pm
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. The Construction Project Manager will coordinate with various stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and clients, to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Project Coordination & Scheduling
- Manage multiple projects with senior management and field supervisors, meeting tight deadlines.
- Coordinate with clients, fabricators, detailers, and subcontractors to ensure timely project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules; update weekly with stakeholders.
- Interface with departments to plan material and work schedules; meet regularly with key personnel.
- Drawings & Specifications
- Review and analyze contracts, drawings, and job specs to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Coordinate with detailers to ensure all project requirements are reflected in shop and erection drawings, including AESS finishes and ground-smooth areas.
- Compare erection and design drawings during the approval process, and verify all approval comments are incorporated before production.
- Field & Fabrication Oversight
- Establish and maintain relationships with GCs and Erectors; ensure they receive all necessary documentation.
- Confirm Erectors have required materials (e.g., AB, erection, and shop drawings, bolt MTRs) at least four weeks before erection.
- Walk the shop daily to monitor progress and visit job sites as needed.
- Verify all items are ready for shipment, including bolts with MTR labels.
- Communication & Documentation
- Copy Erectors on all GC communications, RFIs, and transmittals related to their scope.
- Review and submit RFIs for clarity and completeness.
- Maintain change order logs and notify GCs of cost impacts promptly with supporting documentation.
- Send full drawing and model updates to Erectors as revisions occur.
Qualifications:
- Must have 10+ years of project managing experience in structural steel industry
- Thorough knowledge of fabrication and erection standards and procedures
- Be able to handle multiple jobs at once
- General knowledge of AISC standards
