Job Description:
• Provide O/S image management and IT support for Engineering Labs centered around the creation/conversion of specific customer images (both physical and virtual) to Overwatch Dell based hardware of VMware images.
• Act as a liaison between end-users, technical support staff and management.
• Manage Help Desk tickets and phone activity, providing strong customer service and effective dissemination of problem resolution or problem escalation.
• Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions, program problems, and cleaning/fixing potential viruses as time permits.
• Provide asset management dealing with deployments, updates, repairs, decommissioning / recycling, and documenting both hardware and software
Primary Job Duties:
• Front line phone support
• Tier1 help desk ticket resolution
• General IT support for Engineering Lab users
• PC Imaging (Acronis):
• Desktop Image deployment
• New desktop Image creation
• Desktop image capture/cloning
• Workstation P2V/V2P (VMWare)
• Desirable:
• Application support for software development tools (MS Visual Studio 6.0, 2005, 2008, 2010)
• Network administration (VLANS, DNS, DHCP)
• Exchange/AD/Group Policy administration
• ESX/Hyper-V administration
Secondary Job Duties:
• Password unlocks & resets (AD)
• Desktop image/build deployment (SCCM build process)
• Basic Win7 & XP OS support
• MS Office Support
• Asset and inventory management (Workstations, phones, accessories)
• Shipping and receiving support for remote sites
Requirements:
• Strong knowledge and experience with installation, configuration, and management of Dell desktop hardware, MS-Windows XP and 7 Professional, and MS-Office Professional and peripherals
• Strong communication skills; written and verbal
• Maintain strong attention to detail in high-pressure situations
• Solid understanding of business practices with fundamental understanding of project management methodology
• Requires excellent hands-on IT skills and knowledge
• Preferred 2 years of prior Information Technology experience
• Ability to crawl, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs, requires manual dexterity.
