Collins is seeking enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals to join us as Project Engineers on the NASA Dragonfly Program. Dragonfly is managed by John Hopkins Applied Physics Lab (APL). The program mission is to explore Saturn's moon Titan using a rotorcraft lander, investigating its habitability and organic chemistry, and searching for biosignatures. You will need to combine project management skills with detailed technical intellect to support Integrated Product Development Team efforts to design, develop, assembly and test ight hardware. Responsibilities include • Work autonomously with limited oversight from manager • Work collaboratively with the Program Chief, other Engineering disciplines, Value Stream Lead (VSL), Operations, Quality and Supply Chain to meet schedule, cost, and technical requirements • Support and/or lead multi-discipline technical teams • Facilitate Project Engineering tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives. • Drive Project Engineering process using integrated scheduling, earned value management, and risk and opportunity management. • Work with other disciplines to respond to SRIs • Determine disposition and rationale for Quality Notifications (QNs) in SAP • Initiate Engineering Changes in Windchill and drive to closure • Assembly/Test Hardware support of technical issues • Support root cause investigations and corrective actions • Track team’s integrated execution performance to plan • Analyze, identify, and address execution problems, recommend and implement resolutions to ensure the successful completion of projects • Forecast project revenues, monitor costs, and re-estimate project costs monthly to maximize project profitability and ensure business objectives are met • Maintain and present plans and progress reports relating to business aspects of the project(s)to track progress and ensure that established targets are met • Participate in continuous improvement efforts for project execution efficiency. • Champion superior ethical and professional behavior in all situations This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written),technical experience, and the ability to work as a cross functional team leader. Direct communication with program management and department engineering leadership will be required at times. |
